Built-in Hdd Error, No Hard Drive Detected

I detached the hard drive from my laptop and (Toshiba qosmio) replaced it when I reboot i get the buil-in hdd error. when i try to reinstall the operating system(windows xp), the no hard drive detected error occurs…if u have nay idea about this, let me know…thanks in advance!

      WinXP does not natively support SATA hard drives. I suspect that is what you have. Why did you replace the drive anyway?

      You need to either supply the SATA drivers when prompted using the floppy drive or slipstream the SATA drivers into your Winxp files and burn a new WinXP CD.

      Nliteos can perform the slipstreaming for you. The drivers come from the hardware manufacturers site. In your case, Toshiba. Get Nliteos at the link below.
