Installing Windows 3.1 on your Computer

In this How-To we show you how to install Windows 3.1 on your computer.

Requirements:
2 HDD's
512 MB of ram
200 mb of disk space

Step 1. Get Windows 3.1

Step 2. Get Dos 6.22 bootdisk and setup

Step 3. Download a partition manager ( I used Easeus Partition Master Home Edition because its free)

Step 4. Make a FAT16 Partition.

Step 5. Make the partition.active

Step 6. restart your computer

Step 7. Extract  the bootdisk to the new partition. (Remember dos likes only a driver smaller then 600 mb)

Step 8. Make a new folder called SETUP in the new partition then extract all the dos setup files.

Step 9. make a new folder called WINSETUP in the new partition then extract all the windows setup files.

Step 10. restart your computer again then press F12 (assuming your boot key is F12) then Press harddisk and load the new drive partition.

Step 11. When in the dos prompt type cd SETUP then press enter.

Step 12. Type SETUP then press enter then follow the instructions on-screen.

Step 13. reboot your computer and do the same thing as in step 10.

Step 14. type cd WINSETUP then press enter and follow the instructions on-screen

Step 15. reboot your computer and do the same thing as in step 10. then type win when your in the dos prompt then press enter.

And then you have loaded Windows 3.1!
