Fix Sound in Mint or Ubuntu

Try this:

Use......sudo alsamixer.....in the terminal, then it will want your password, type it in, it will not display but keep typing.

When alsamixer is open use the L/R arrow keys to move across the bottom of the screen and the up/down arrows to adjust the volume of all channels.

Also, be sure to select your sound-card, it lists a legend of the key commands.

Selecting the correct key will open a list of soundcards, select yours from the list.

I use Linux Mint, it's based on Ubuntu and when I install Mint I have to enter alsamixer every time and crank the settings all the way up to get my sound.
