Specs: XP HOME
During start up black and whit screen with zeros and ones all over the place? Loaded Vista so I could still surf the net and now it doesn't see me video card?

Then you need to install the correct drivers if they exist.

Guess it is possible that the card is bad.

Thanks, my card is probably the cause. I downloaded the latest driver from nVIDIA and when I ran it it said it found no device. I guess for now I'll limp along with the on board graphics. Which suck. I don't think at this point it's worth buying a new card. Time for a new laptop I guess. Thanks for the input. I had never seen this problem before and thought I'd throw it into the hat. Even when I tried safe mode I got 1's and zeros all over the screen. Weird?

remove the defective card so it doesn't cause a cascade short which will take out the rest of the system.
