Was this a new install using WinXP sp3 as the source or an upgrade from an earlier service pack?

What is the origin of the WinXP files?

Either way, you evidently have not installed ANY hardware drivers for your rig. WinXP sp3 may or may not have the necessary drivers available.

You should install the motherboard chipset drivers and probably the graphics, sound, network. Get them from the motherboard manufacturer's CD or their website.

For add in cards you need to get the drivers from the GPU manufacturer's site or from an install disk that came with the card.

I would run an XP Repair.
