Specs: Windows XP
I would like to see a log of all the programs that are involved in the startup of my computer and what processes or programs started those programs.

I have 2 programs that are created with random names and I would like to know who (program/process) created them

Autoruns is an awesome utility to provides a very comprehensive report of startup options.

If you're looking for a more simple view, use System Configuration Utility (Start > Run > type: msconfig) and check the commonly used Startup tab.
