XP Boot Problems due to missing pxodomuke.dll

Specs: Windows XP
I'm trying to fix a friends PC and I am completely stumped! I try to boot windows normally and it loads up okay but after about 15 sec it freezes and I have to shut it down hard. This happens every time when it freezes I get a error message, its something about a missing .dll file called pxodomuke.dll. But I also cannot boot the pc into safe mode or use last known configuration. He's a musician and this computer holds all his programs and files, he doesnt want to lose any of it. I cannot find the .dll file, what should I do?

pxodomuke.dll does not belong there. You need someone who knows how to boot with a Live CD & transfer the files to a USB drive or another machine on the network. Then you can do a clean install.

Boot to xp cd and use repair. Repair should fix it with data intact.

I'd boot to a live linux or barts cd/usb to get data off first to some usb drive or network drive.
