How did you manage to type this up???
Unless you used different laptop :)

WORM.BLASTER refers to the one which pops up a window
saying "Computer shutting down in .... count down seconds"

Anyway, what OS have you got installed?!
The keyboard and mouse ... are they via PS/2 or USB connected!?

if via PS/2 then try via USB (need keyboard or mouse with USB connector tho)

Do a factory restore. Then apply updates and security suite. Be sure to not use the admin account, make a limited user account and use runas when needed.

Worms tend to be on usb drives and network drives also. Be careful to scan them.

I tried the pull out battery and hold the start for 30 sec. I also tried the button on the back...holding that down. I tried going on safe mode....same thing. As soon as it loads the 1st screen the mouse and keyboard wont work. I've tried to arow u and down...enter...the function key with the f7 and f3...etc. I was hoping there was a something else I missed. I appreciate the 2 responses...thanks!

Guess you could try a live cd to see if in fact the hardware is OK.
