Windows XP take too long to display network Icon in taskbar

Specs: Windows XP
Hi
I have windows xp pro. It was running fine till I had attacked; Trozan.zeroaccess!inf.
I downloaded trozan removel tool from symantic and removed the visrus.
But now windows xp pro is taking too long (about 7min) to get network connection icon to appeared in the taskbar. This mean it is not connected to network.
I have read it up on net and some are advicing to redisable some services. I try that, but still no change.

Please can someone help.

Many thanks

You might describe exactly what services you disabled. Not sure what you mean by "re-disable" some services! If you disable a service it no longer works if you "re-enable" a service it operates once again. Your terminology needs working on too.
