windows xp shows computer shutting down message for a long time, but never shuts down.

Never had a problem letting Windows manage page file.

Frens, thanx for ur loyal contribution. My windows xp shutdown problem is solved. It took 96seconds for the system to power down after "windows is shutting down" message.
when the pagefile size is cleared and memmory allotment for background services are activated the problem was solved. Frens, dont forget to specify the value for pagefile size and maximum pagefile size. (let the max size b increased to a higher value.)
