Specs: Windows XP
My pc has only 3% free space on it, my nephew looked at it and he figured out it is Windows XP that is taking up all the space. I don't understand computers well and don't want to start deleting things.. What can I do to get more space? The computer was my sister's and she blessed me with it. I have deleted any files I do not want and the recycle bin is empty and still only at 3%. I have very little on the computer, use it for e-mail mostly and some web searching. I can't deflagment due to not enough space. Can someone help? Please remember I am not computer savoy. thank you, Debbie

Install & run CCleaner-Slim (last one on the list), delete everything it finds:

Jam, I clicked on the link above and clicked on download and nothing happened. Earlier tonight I was looking at my files and folders and deleted some, but there are so many there & I have no clue what they are. By deleting some files I now have 6% free space, but that is not much, only had 3% the other day. Some of my e-mails came up with no text, I hope I didn't delete something I shouldn't have. I feel so lost. Someone Help please. Debbie

What do you mean, "nothing happened"?

Try this: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/do...

If it doesn't start automatically, click "Start Download"

It worked the second time, but only said it clean up a few for free.I am not trusting to pay them to do more. My nephew had me delete a few files when we were over the phone talking, it is faster now, but no more room. My nephew is coming over tomorrow to take a look at my computer. Debbie

My nephew is awesome, he found some huge old files ( sorta hidden I think) and he removed them and now I have 77% space, yeah!!! He had some sorta program that had a bunch of little gray boxes, no words. He said the bigger the box the bigger the file. He found the large files that were an issue in there and deleted them. My computer is faster and I appreciate everyones input trying to help me. I may some day need more ram, but I don't do much on the computer but e-mail and a little web searching. He got Adobe to download also which was not able to before. thanks again. Debbie
