Windows XP Invialid BOOT.INI BSoD lockout

Specs: Windows XP, Q6600 Quad Core
Yesterday, after closing Call of Duty, my computer suddenly crashed. It had just a black screen. It was lit up, but black. No commands worked, so I restarted it. When restarting, I got a black screen and after a while, a message saying "Invalid BOOT.INI file. Booting from C:/Windows." The computer would then proceed to ask me if I wanted to boot in Save Mode, Last Known Good Config, or just start normally. I get the same result on all the choices: The computer will start to boot up, (show the windows XP logo and loading bar) and then right as it's about to show the login screen, it will BSoD. The screen is up for so little time that I can't read the error message. This had happened before, however It was tied to my graphics card/or/Power supply. (I took out my Graphics Card and ran in VGA and the computer worked fine) This time however, It did the exact same thing. I have no idea what the problem is, however I feel like my boot.ini is corrupted. I cant even start my machine.

Some other people that had the same problem said that restoring Windows didn't fix the problem. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Reboot and hold down F8 (Safe Mode startup) and select "Disable Automatic Restart On System Failure" & hit Enter.

This will not fix your problem but should allow the BSOD error to be displayed, I think you have a hard drive problem.

Good luck.
