Windows XP Display has shifted 2 inches to the right

Toshiba Satellite l25-s119 notebook

Specs: Windows XP, Intel Celeron M
I have a Toshiba Satellite L 25 with Windows in which its display has shifted 1 inch to the right and NOTHING I have tried, including from many "suggestions", from the supposed "help and support" of Toshiba and other "help lines" will correct it. The Microsoft "help" would even let me "submit" my description of the problem. It seems from the "help" lines that many people have this problem, but as yet there have been NO satisfactory answers to correct the problem.

What happens if you boot up into BIOS setup? Is the screen image displaced? How about in Safemode? We aren't mind readers so have no way of knowing which suggestions you have already tried. No point going over the same ground.

Richard 59: Thank you for your response. While I don't know what BIOS setup and Safemode are (I'm a writer, not a computer expert), I experimented (tried everything that my friends and family recommended) and "accidentally" got it to work correctly. But thank you for your prompt response. At the very least, you were there when I needed help, unlike Microsoft and Toshiba.
