Specs: Windows XP, Pentium 4 3Gb
Windows XP chrashes then restarts. Works after four, five trials. It doesn´t complete boot, makes something like a hardware noise and restart to a black screen with boot options (safe mode, safe with prompt etc.).

Sounds like a hardware issue or software issue.

For hardware you could try removing the memory (RAM) and reinstalling it. It could also be a bad chip.

For software, there could be incompatible drivers installed. For starters, are you running Service Pack 3?

I've had a lot of experience with XP, and I do know that Avast 6, for example, will crash XP and reboot it continuously if you are not running at least Service Pack 2.

Thank you, sdfox 7. I´ll try removing and reinstalling memory, did it in the past and solve some crash issues. I´m on SP3 and AVAST, never had any trouble like this one before. I´ll let you know if it works.

"and restart to a black screen with boot options (safe mode, safe with prompt etc.)"

Also, if those don't fix the problem, when the menu comes up, select "Last Known Good Configuration" Don't worry, you won't lose any new documents you've created, it just restores the drivers back to the last known working state.

I wish NT 4.0 had a safe mode option; if you had a bad driver back in the day it would just blue-screen and memory dump. Very difficult to get the computer started to fix the driver issue when all it would do is blue-screen.
