Windows Update Issue

June 18, 2011 at 23:53:31
Specs: Windows 95, 98, ME,, Pentium 2 - Pentium
Whenever I try to update Windows it says:

Error number: 0x800A0046

The error means that I should enable "Userdata persistence". Its enabled.

I tried to disable the Windows Update Service in the services, the service doesn't exist.

Also I have another problem......

Whenever I try to go into Disk Management, it says that I don't have permission.

Then I tried the dcomcnfg thing, the moment I tried to go into the computers window, the program closes unexpectedly.

All of this happened after I did a Windows XP Repair. It only introduced more problems, making the computer run a whole lot worse.

How do I fix this problem?

My screename used to be superjnf, but eversince I could connect my facebook, I am going to start using this.

I also create songs, check these out:

What was the problem that prompted a Windows repair in the first place.

It seems pretty obvious that a repair didn't solve the problem and the underlying problem is still there.

There was a malware problem, I used malwarebytes to remove the malware but it still kept coming back and kept changing settings I didn't want it to change.

When I repaired XP, all the malware is gone, but the settings are still messed up. One of the biggest problems is now I can't update Windows.

Is there a way of manually updating the security updates?
