Specs: Windows XP, 2.4ghz/1gb ddr
Hi, i have a customers PC here, that is driving me nuts. On startup the computer continously tries to setup a unfinished program. The program i and the customer dont know what it is, only information i can is its looking for status.msi file. And thinks its located on G:\ which is strange, there is no G:\ listed in explorer. I've tried windows installer cleanup ulitity but still gives me same error msg as in pic below. "Invalid Drive G:\". I've tried uninstalling windows installer also. Have tried system restore. And virus and spyware scans.

Only thing that works temporary is i type this in command prompt

subst g: c:\

Any ideas what i can try next ?

Seems this problem is usually caused by HP driver installs (a printer or something)

If the customer has any of these, close the popup with ctrl-alt-del. Uninstall the driver, reboot, temp. switch off User Account Control in the security panel (if you have vista) then use the driver disk again: it should sort it.

If not..

Did the customer run any installs from a memory key? This could explain the missing drive.

You can also try Windows Installer CleanUp Utility scroll down the following page to find it (plus some blurb about it)
