Window won't appear when clicked on task bar.

Specs: Windows XP, AMD 3.33/1.5 Gb
I will have two or more windows open (such as Wordpad window and Explorer window), and if I'm on the Wordpad window and click on the Explorer window tab on the task bar to switch to it, it will appear for a microsecond, then disappear again, and the Wordpad window will remain on top. However, the taskbar is telling me that the Explorer window is suppose to be showing. I have to click on the Explorer window tab once (to minimize it) then again to restore it, and then it'll show. This is constantly happening and getting worse. Help! BTW, the Wordpad and Explorer windows are just examples. This is happening to every single type of window on my screen.

Look for the second program in the tray at the bottom of the screen. It may be opening in a minimized state.

Thank you for responding. But the program is not opening in a minimized state. The program is already maximized. It would just appear for a split second (on top of everything as it should) then disappear underneath again. The program which was orginally on top would stay on top.

Sorry. I don't have Tweak UI. (I don't know what that is).
