win xp startup failure

Specs: windows xp pro, 2.4GHz intel celeron, 512MB DDR2 RAM
when i push the power button on the pc, everything loads until it gets to the windows xp loading screen. it gets stuck at the loading screen. i have tried to start it in safe mode, but that gets stuck also. i try to install a fresh copy of windows xp, but the CD ROM reads but stays forever reading, it does not do anything, plz help me, you can send me an email of the sollution. thanks thoegovender@gmail.com

Sounds like bad RAM. Can you boot to a recovery console or does the system disk ever boot to the point where you can choose recovery console? If not then try pulling the RAM and reseating it. If you can boot to the recovery console try running a CHKDSK.

i tried almost everything, i took out the ram and inserted it again, i bought new cables for the hard drive. i cleaned the tower, thinking the dust could cause the problem but nothing worked
