i cant drag, drop, copy or paste folders with Windows explorer like i used to be able to. XP SP3 Very frustrating.
What happens when you attempt the operation? id10t
sounds more virus/malware related than sp3
Thanks for trying to help. Here is what it does: I highlight some JPG's off of a disk that I want to put on my HD. Then I left click and hold down my left mouse button and the highlighted pics do nothing. They just stay highlighted and don't move. I did not have this problem last night when I moved hundreds and hundreds of photos this way. Then after a while it give me a 'program not responding' message and I have to find a way to reboot. I ran AVG, Malware Megabytes, and MS's new malious software removal tool. Even Ccleaner. All of those state that things are fine.
I questioned SP3 for reasons I'll tell in a bit because I got to help put the kids to bed now. Thanks again. Hopefully together we can get this old dog working.
Thank God for System Restore. I restored it back to about ten days ago and Windows Explorer is working fine again. I think I got a little silly with some new freeware Utilities toys and possibly deleted some important things that were needed. I think I will stick with the simple tools that MS provides (ie. Defrag, DiskClean, etc...) to maintain my PC. Along with AVG of course. I'm cheap. Got to be. My health insurance at work just went up 12% . . .
Thanks. Dean
