Can you type in www.google.com and then re-set your home page?

Find a file called hosts. It should be under c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts and may be hidden so you have to view hidden files.

It should either contain a lot of entries that you put in or only two normally. It should not contain any thing like www.google.com entries.

Are you sure you are using Internet explorer and not explorer.
