|This morning I logged onto an XP user account I use every day to find it completely changed. The background was blank, half the desktop icons were gone, the display was changed, the Internet and E-mail tabs from the start menu were completely gone, and now anytime I click on a program I had previously installed, it says "Preparing to install program" and then has to install it again. All my subfolders (pictures, videos, etc.) are completely gone with no trace of any documents or media. It's like everything vanished. Outlook Express, which I used every day, is completely gone. It isn't on the desktop or the start menu. What is weird is that all the other XP accounts are fine. When I tried to do a system restore, the computer restarted and then said "restore not possible."|
What the heck happened to everything and is there any way to get it all back?
