Why doesn't company laptop show adm accounts?

Specs: Windows 7, P4 3.06 GHz

On my company laptop, when I do "net user" in CMD, I can see all local accounts (Guest, HelpAssistant, Support**) but the the Administrator. Obviously it is either hidden, deleted or renamed. But if the IT engineer comes to install something on my system {I don't have admin rigts :(}, he logs in within seconds indicating that the administrator account is not disabled. In fact he does it so fast that I am not even able to see the username that he enters at the log in dialog.

Could anyone help me make sense of the following:

a. How to check the username for the local administrator
b. Why doesn't it show up in "net user." how is it done?
c. Can step b be reversed, if so how?

Appreciate any assistance.

Why don't you ask your IT person?

Are you trying to hack it? Better consider how easy or hard it might be to get a new job.

Try net user administrator.

mmm in Vista and Windows 7 the Admin. account is disabled - by default...

It can be enabled - from a user account; but if IT have set a password - which they most likely will, and ought to... (and by default the account doesn't come with one set...) then you won't be able to logon/run as Admin...; but will at least be able to see the account logon?

A trawl via google - using the string:

cannot see administrator account

doth bring up various hits about it, and the above info is from one of this one:
