Why didn't my security software install?

March 29, 2011 at 12:39:27
Specs: Windows XP, Celeron D 3.2GHz/1 GB RAM
I got an error message when I tried to install Pandaclound Internet Security downloaded off the internet. I have XP without any service packs. I am specifically concerned that my PC is infected with malware which is preventing the install of the security software. Here's the error message:

Setup.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point EncodePointer could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNAL32.dll.

Why are you running XP original? That version doesn't even support hard drives larger than 137GB. You need to use SP3.

Correct- d-mondo! Install SP3 & install a decent free anti-v program while you're at it.
