Who is reading my Hotmail Junk Mail?

Microsoft Windows xp home edition w/sp2

Specs: Windows XP
Some times some of the emails in my Junk Mail folder in Hotmail appear to have been read - that is - as if some one has clicked on them and opened them.

It's not me! Should this be happenning?

Thanks!

They probably being marked as read by whatever decided they were junk and put them into the junk folder. Most emails system automatically mark junk, spam and other unwanted stuff as read.

StuartS

the major problem is, "me of the emails in my Junk Mail folder".

Spamfilter solftware will mark such mails as read or it will not, but not sometimes.

The original poster should always write the last response !!!

Change your password if you're concerned.

I would check your email settings as the guys above you said, cause sometimes when an email comes through, depending on the contents it's automatically marked as spam/junk. (If there's an attachment, etc), you could try Caretaker Anti-Spam from here http://www.surfright.nl/en/downloads/ and see if it works for you.

As for changing your password, make sure it's something that's either cased (eample: FtyD3%7* ) or VERY hard to guess. I also would recommend changing your security question(s) to something no one knows, and don't make the answer to said question(s) obvious.

THanks, but hotmail has an automatic Junk Mail folder. It puts suspicious emails automatically in that folder as Junk/spam. My question was that some of these appear Read/Marked, while others dont. I dont understand why that is or if someone is actually clicking on them, though I cant imagine why.

I doubt it could be something clicking them. If someone had gotten access to your account, I'm sure you would know right away. Maybe it's just an error on Hotmail's end?..

I it is someone, reading the mails !!!

If someone had gotten access to your account, I'm sure you would know right away.

How will one know this? (except, someone reads the mails, that are then marked as read).

I'm with you on that, that it's possibly a problem at hotmail.
