It sounds like a similar issue to what I was having with my tx. If it is, you may be included in the settlement class.

I tried the f8 to boot the computer in safe mode, but it does nothing. It's like the computer comes on, the disc drive spins, and then nothing. Usually I hear or feel the hard drive start spinning, but nothing.
I also tried to put in a windows disk to see if it would boot from that, but nothing!

"I also tried to put in a windows disk to see if it would boot from that, but nothing!"

Can you get into the bios to make sure it is set to boot from CD first?

Do you have a floppy drive in the laptop?

No floppy

I tried tapping F2, and even tried tapping the delete after I turned on the power, but it does nothing.

Ok, this is one way of trying to get a result. Lets see if you can do this 1st step.

Slave your HD to another HD/comp ( no need to bolt it in, just cable it & leave it outside the case ) You may have a choice of jumper settings on the master HD, such as master with slave or ms. Copy your stuff ( don't forget your emails & address book ) onto the host HD or other media.
Notebook / Laptop Hard Drive to Desktop Adapter (2.5" to 3.5")
