Specs: Windows XP, 1.96GB
When I try to open ‘My Computer’ icon on my desktop screen, it does not open instead, the following message appears-"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close" etc. When I click "Dont Send", The Active Desktop Recovery Screen Opens. Now if I click "Restore My Active Desktop", the following message appears- An error has occured in the script on this page Line: 65, Char: 1, Error: Object doesn't support this action Code: 0, URL file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Manish%20Boss//Application%20Data/Microsoft/Internet%20Explorer/Desktop.htt Do you want to continue running script on this page?
Please provide a solution to non-opening of 'My Computer' so that I may open it as usual.
Further, 'MS Office Word' & 'MS Office Excel' have disappeared from Start Menu- MS Office. I have Windows XP professional Version 2002, Service pack 3, Laptop-DELL VOSTRO 1320
With regards,
manish bose

Have you run an Anti Virus and Malewarebyte ? Both can be had free.

If this has just happened you can try system restore to an earlier date.

Another way to get to My Computer
Right click the bottom Taskbar - Task Manager - Application Tab -
Right bottom - New Task - Browse - My Computer.

Not sure but check this.
Start - Control Panel - Internet Options - Advaced Tab
Disable Script debugging (Internet Eplorer)
Disable Script debugging other
Put a check mark for both boxes and click Apply at the bottom.
