When I close tab(or tabs) in Chrome,explorer.exe stops working.Sometimes,explorer.exe just loads again,sometimes nothing happens,nothing works, and i have to log off system.
Check your Chrome Plugins for any which are shown in red - this means an error with that plugin, and it's usually the Flash Player plugin. Updating the Flash Player and any other plugin which is shown in red should fix the problem.
Or better yet, don't use Chrome.

With regards to your issue, there could either a malware problem or a registry entry which is corrupted due to which the explorer.exe stops working. To eliminate the problem of malware, you could try a freeware called malware bytes- anti malware. Also you could try using the windows cd to repair your computer. "Repair your computer" option can be accessed by pressing the F8 option at start up. Ensure to insert the windows cd and then run the repair option.
