what xp file association is used to open .iso

Specs: Windows XP, 256 mb RAM
i am trying to create an AVG rescue disk using an .ISO file. the file association defaults to the
AVG rescue menu instead of running from DOS. i checked all file types and went to advanced option to select this extension, to no avail. please help, if someone can. thank you.

.ISO is a Disk Image File, which is usually burnt to CD/DVD, but it can be read with WinRAR http://www.rarlabs.com

If you want to burn it to a disk, use ImgBurn.
