Where is the clicking coming from?
Yes I know the computer but from where inside......
Do you have a cd in? Floppy?
If the clicking is coming from the hard drive.....consider looking for a replacement.

Might take two people to track down...one to click and one with a straw to listen to components.

A couple of months ago I ran into a similar noise on my wifes computer(it had never made the noise before). Ended up she had a virus on her computer that was causing the noises somehow. Not saying that is what your problem is, but that might be something to consider. Give your anti-virus, and anti-spyware programs a run, and see if they come up with anything suspicious.

Mollycats, take a look at 'sounds and devices' in your control panel (Start>settings>control panel). Under to sounds tab, 'open program' needs to say 'none' for silence.
