Welcome Screen lockup due to expired CA suite

Microsoft Windows xp professional w/serv...

Specs: Windows XP PRO SP3
The welcome screen comes up and then sits there forever! I can get into safe mode, by cutting off the power and then I power back on to the safe mode. I copied the userinit.exe file from another XP HOME (not PRO) computer and copied it into the bad computer, but no luck there. IDK if it was that it's a home version vs. PRO version. Any help is appreciated. It's funny, the day my CA internet suite expired, this problem started. At first it was my desktop with no icons or taskbar, and now I can't get past the welcome screen to even see my empty desktop and no taskbar.

Have you tried to uninstall CA Internet Suite in safe mode?
Or maybe you simply disable all the services of CA and if there is started a part of CA in Autostart, you have to delete it from the Autostart.

No, it was just a coincidence, but I'll uninstall it.

Thank you so much! Uninstalled CA Internet Suite and it's working better than before. Thanks so much! I just had a message into a tech to make a visit and now I can cancel and catch up on my work. Computer is MUCH faster now. Thanks again-you made my night!

You're welcome :-)
But don't forget to install an Antivirus program again.
You can also use a free Antivirus. There are several real good. And you at least should enable the windows firewall, if no other firewall is installed.
These two things are really necessary, otherwise it may took a short time and your machine is infected by a virus or trojan.
