Specs: Windows XP
I just ran my antispyware program. After running it, I was in the middle of something and waited to reboot to delete all the bad stuff. Finished & rebooted the computer; now when I get the user screen & try to log back on, I get the welcome screen, a flash of my icons page (with no icons but the background shows) and then immediately it goes to the logging off screen. It will not log onto Windows. Computer is a Dell & 2 years old. Will not boot up in Safe Mode, and will not restore from the F8 screen Any ideas? I really don't want to lose any of my data!

On some Dell computers, Dell System Recovery is sometimes accessed by pressing <Ctrl> + <F11> keys at the same time, as soon as the Dell splash screen appears.

Be warned that Dell Recovery will restore the hard drive to what was on it when it left the factory, overwriting everything that's been put on it since then. That's why it's vital to keep backups of your documents & pictures while the PC is working properly.
