Solved webpage not loading on just one site

March 24, 2014 at 14:50:12
Specs: Windows XP
I click on the link in an email or i go directly to home page and after putting in password and username which is correct and click on submit the page will not finish loading. the little circle in the upper left hand corner just keeps turning and there is a yellow tringle in the bottom left corner that says done but with errors on page. and it stays at5 bars on bottom middle and will not go any farther.. this only happens on one site but its an important survey site and its only been happening for about 5 days before that it was fine. Ived tried refreshing using control key and f5 ive tried everything from allowing cookies to fixig registry errors does anyone know what to do

There are other possibilities we can pursue but best cross our fingers and get the reset out of the way first.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Sounds like an issue with the website. See if you can reach it on someone else's computer.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thank you for your reply I will try that tomorrow but I really need to know if there is a way to correct this other than what has been done. I make money on this site and not being able to do my surveys on this site would not be good. I would really rather not have to go else where to get to this site from now on... Do you have any other suggestions. I will let you know what happens after trying from a different computer which is not in my home tomorrow evening.. thanks again for your reply

The reason I said try it on another computer was to establish whether it was the website itself that way playing up - clearly you would not want to do this long term.

If you are using Internet Explorer you could try putting the website into Compatibility View (from Tools drop down).

Or you could go one step further and Reset IE:
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset button.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi Derek. I followed your advise and tried to access the site on my daughter computer and it worked just fine.. Now we know its my computer. I am going to try to reset IE hopefully that will help...
I am a little nervos doing this as it resets everything and I have a online focus forum that I have to be in Wed night so I am going to wait unill after I have done the forum and then do the reset.. Is there any special things I should do before resetting IE.. I know I will have to go back and reset my settings and stuff like that but is there anything else I should do before I reset... Again I really appreciate your help

It will keep all your Favorites. Your addons will be cleared but they come back quite quickly with a bit of browsing. Otherwise unless you have customized IE in some way it should be fine.

I assume Compatibility View didn't help.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

no the compatibility view did not help. I will get back to you tomorrow after i do the reset and let you know what happens. This is just so frustrating esecially since its an important site and I just can not seem to figure this out cause Im really not that savy when it comes to this.. But i do think that maybe it might have something to do with my anti virus. I did a deep scan and got something about cookies and i really didnt pay that much attention and ihad the report saved but then I accidently deleted it and its not in my recyclebin as its been deleted from there... I wrote an email to my anti virus support center asking if they would have a copy of that report but I have not heard back from them as yet.. I just wish I knew why and how to fix this... thanks again and will get back to you tomorrow as its been along day and Im going to bed.. Have a wonderful evening and a sleep well. :)
