Microsoft Office publisher v.2007 - upgr...
August 12, 2010 at 13:30:22
Specs: Windows XP
I created a web page which works well on some computers and on mine using internet explorer. However on other computers the hyperlinks (to other pages) either do not appear at all, or do not appear as hyperlinks (google chrome and firefox). I dont know what to do? Any ideas? I can convert to Publisher 2007 but have not done that yet.

There is a standard, that all websites should work on. If you created your website in a program like Microsoft Publisher, your website might not fit the W3C standard and therefore might not work on all browsers.
You can check your website here:

Thanks very much for this - I do still have a query though. The message reported all links are OK, but the actual text of what it checked seems to me to be only checking a) that the route to the host (ie where my web page is) is OK and b) the email link is OK. (See below). There should be 5 pages on this website, and I can't see that the checker has checked these links. I do know that they work on some machines (eg my office computer), but not on others (eg my netbook - where the links down the left hand side of the page, inserted by me, dont show, but the ones on the bottom of the page - a standard feature of the Publisher package - do), and also if I open in firefox or google chrome then all the links (side and bottom) are shown but dont work.

Seems to me, that there is another, maybe transparent object, lieing on the links.
In that case, the links are ok, but are not accessable.
