Specs: Windows XP Professional SP3 , CPU 2.80 GHz / RAM 512MB
When pulling up web pages using IE 8 the background images/layout is white. Ex. myspace layouts do not show up; when using WMP 11 it is obvious that the background on the tabs is incomplete.
I have had remoted in help, performed every procedure I can think of to help correct this issue, and yet unsuccessful. I am not certified in IT/Computer Management, just have a little knowledge from experience.
Can anyone please help?

Do you have the latest active x installed. Check your security settings for scripting in web pages as well.

Also...you report only 512 in ram...this small amount with IE8 may cause the web pages to be very slow in loading....try to do a thorough cleaning of the cached files and temp files as well as the prefetch files.....google for a free program called ATFcleaner. Run it for cleaning those files and allow plenty of time for the web pages to load and they should load a lot faster with a newer version within the prefetch folder.

Change Is Good

thank you for your feedback. It freed about 48 MB. Now that I have cleaned out the suggested items, what should I proceed with now? Should I add more memory? Whould that help? Honestly my computer is new and I am still restoring it from when I got it (I had to reninstall nearly all the drivers). Its a really good computer and it runs great. I had this same problem using IE 7
