June 30, 2011 at 00:06:58
Specs: Windows XP, 2gb ram
my system volume is always in low after sometime of rebooting my system. when I clicked on the volume control at the toolkit it said "There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices , go to control panel, click printers and other hardware and then click add hardware " and it ended with a okay button.

What should i do to make my system okay again.

✔ Best Answer
There are several things you can try.

-At first, make sure your speakers are turned on and are properly plugged in the motherboard.

-Also, go to device manager (Start > Run > devmgmt.msc) and check for yellow exclamation signs and red X`s.

-Go to Start --> Run, and type in services.msc.

A window will pop up with a list of services. Scroll down to Windows Audio. Right-click
and click on Properties.

Make sure that "Startup type" is set to automatic. Also, make sure, under "Service
status," start is selected.

Post the results here.

Umm...which of the above steps actually did the trick?

Please post a screenshot of Device Manager and the properties of Windows Audio service.
