Verify DMI pool Data

Specs: Windows XP
After automatic updates I restarted my PC and now it's stuck at Verifying DMI Pool Data. I can't afford to loose any data. Please HELP URGENTLY!!!

Seems, that the Master Boot Record has a problem.
You have to boot into the recovery console and type the command:
fixmbr [device_name]

Flashing cursor in the upper left corner of the screen?

Usual sign you lost your master boot record. First step is go into recovery console and run the utilities fixmbr and fixboot. See if that doens't get you up and running.
