Upgraded to IE7 and getting Work Offlinemsg

September 4, 2009 at 01:24:36
Specs: Windows XP
I first upgraded to Internet Explorer 8, but kept getting a "Work Offline" message. I uninstalled it and went with IE 7, but it does the same thing, although maybe not as much. I'm guessing IE is the problem but I also installed ZoneAlarm around the same time.

I uninstalled it and later installed the Comodo firewall. I continued to get the message so I disabled the firewall, but I'm still having the problem.

The message is the one that says "No connection to the internet is currently available...." then choosing "Work Offline" or "Try Again".

The option to work offline isn't even checked when I get this message.

This is the only thing that I can think of that has changed. Everything worked fine before with IE 6 and an older version of Comodo.

I'm not sure it matters but I'm using wireless broadband. I checked my ISP online/offline status and I am online when I get this message.

Thanks for any help.

kc7442, SWAG, what's set as default? You've installed/uninstalled enough for confusion to have taken over and whether or not you get the error message is determined by the status of a flag bit (set/unset), Maybe it was inadvertently left set?
