Unmountable Boot Volume Error Message

Specs: Windows XP
My daughter's Dell Latitude 620 laptop is showing the error message. I've read to enter the BIOS and then load the "fail-safe" default settings. I entered the BIOS pressing F2 upon boot-up. However, nowhere have I found the option to load the fail safe default. Where can I find this option?

On many Dells, the factory splits the hard drive into 2 partitions. One is where the OS is and all of your files, and the other is for restoring your computer to it's factory condition. Have you reformatted the drive? If so, you will most likely need to reinstall Windows, but try this first.

1. At the BIOS, press F12.
2. Select something like "Dell Recovery Boot" or something related.
3. Follow the steps to do a recovery on your system.

(Sorry about the lack of details, but I don't have much experience with this).
