Specs: Windows XP service pk3, AMD ATHLONXP1800
Hi dear folks,
I just got recovered from the Ntldr missing problem for WinXP service pack3, but for the file recovery by Test disk, it is recommending me to disable or remove the AVAST virus scanner, so after having deleted the virus scanner, a ghost CD-ROM drive G: appears in My computer (or system), and legally My PC got two optical drive D: & E.
Under above those circumstances, how do I get off the ghost cd Drive G?
Sincerely,
Mohagian.

It may have been created when you installed drive-emulation software which creates a "virtual" cd-rom drive, and can even be created by DVD-video player software such as "PowerDVD".

You would uninstall the related [virtual cd] software.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
