unexpected shutdown without any massage

Specs: Windows XP, 1GB
hi every one, i have a pc with amd dual core processor with asus mother board, when i used the computer for long time like 3-4 hours my pc is shutting down without any warning massage. in other case when i want to install the window XP/Window 7 the successfull running of 2-3 stage it get shutdown. is there a problems with FAN or power supply ?

There are three possible causes:

1. Bad power supply
2. Bad RAM
3. Overheating

Try with a known-good power supply, test your memory with MemTest, and check the CPU temperature.

The fact that it takes 3-4 hours makes overheating the most likely cause.

Could be dust build up on the fans, case vents and CPU heatsink.

BIOS will probably have sensors so you could check temperatures there or download a program that picks them up.
