Hi paulsep
I found that link too. It is the motherboard manual for an intel DH55HC motherboard which indicates that motherboard is compatible with both the i3 processor and Windows XP.

I suspect the OP has purchased a system designed for Win7 or Vista. It will be the rest of the system that is incompatible with XP due to the absence of XP drivers for the rest of the integrated components, rather than incompatibility with the CPU.

Not sure if the OP has a question or is just making an unsubstantiated statement based on the opinion of an anonymous vendor.

Would need more info on the system specification.

Richard

I'm with you in that, but if the question is, whether it's possible to run windows xp on Intel I3, the answer is YES.

And yes, you're right, more detailed information is needed about the whole system, where XP should be installed on.

My guess is it has nothing to do with the CPU, you just don't know how to install XP on an SATA hard drive. That question has been asked/answered dozens of times in these forums...do a search.

Why do you want to downgrade Windows 7 to XP? If you are not skilled at this sort of thing you would be advised not to mess with your laptop - you are quite likely to end up with a system that doesn't boot.
