Disabling in Device Manager disables hardware. What is it that you're trying to eliminate? It's possible that one of the services you disabled is what's causing your problem. And how about posting your system specs & the music program you're trying to run? Could it be that you simply don't have enough RAM? 512MB should be considered the minimum to run XP reasonably well. 1GB+ would be better.

hi thanks for your reply!

i need to disable as many functions as possible due to a common latency issue when running the TRAKTOR software. the laptop im running it on is a hp 6735s
amd turion x2 dual core 2.10ghz 2.74gb of ram, was running vista but now on xp sp3

software requirements are xp sp2 or vista sp1 pentium iv or athlon 1.4 1 gb ram

i want my laptop set up purely for for this program only and nothing else not even wifi so i can use this with confidence that it will not freeze or cause and pops or clicks in the audio (common issues) when playing live

im sure i have turned off a function but im unsure as to what it is, hope you can help

Read the help files on setting hardware to be disabled in some profiles and use that option.
