In windows XP I deleted the need for a password to log on. A week later I contracted a back door virus which leaves me in a looping Dell startup window that bypasses the Windows start progress bar. The recovery console keeps asking for a password in order to do a repair and since I deleted the need for a password to log on, no matter what I type from previous passwords, nothing gets me past this point.
Have you tried just leaving the password blank? Even if there is no password set the RC will ask for a password, just pressing return should be sufficient. "I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..." Pink Floyd
You need to put a password back in then and use it. 1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
