Trying to find Minesweeper settings files

October 31, 2011 at 07:41:09
Specs: Windows XP
I'm trying to find the file(s) which Windows saves the settings for Minesweeper in. Best times, and such. Anyone know where I would find that file, or perhaps just how I could go about finding out?

I'm on Windows XP.

Those values for minesweeper are found and saved in the registry. Note: editing the Registry can be a potentially dangerous
thing and you may prevent the Windows operating system from running properly, so backup the registry or
run System Restore first before changing any values in the Registry. Run regedit.exe and proceed to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\winmine

Editing the names and times only chances for the 'current' user, so if a different user logs on, that user will have to change the registry settings all over
again before starting Minesweeper.

Please let us know if our advice was able to help you.

I have never changed any of these settings. Be very careful when editing the registry.
