Hey guys,
I'm trying to install servie pack 2 on my system, and I keep getting the error message "This Service Pack requires the machine to be on AC Power before setup starts". Does anyone have any idea what this means, or how to bypass it? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is this a laptop? If so, it's telling you to make sure it's plugged in. A battery could go dead at any time, and if it was to go dead during the installation process, it would mess things up with your XP installation and may render it unbootable.

If this is a desktop, I have no idea why you'd get the error.

BTW, why are you installing Service Pack 2 when Service Pack 3 is available? SP3 includes all updates that are in SP2 plus many more.

And why are you installing SP2 instead of SP3? Just download the file then double click on it.
