Specs: Windows XP home, yamaha
the computer will display fine on old monitor but acts up new RCA, LCD monitor. It goes to split screen and I cant change it thru control panel. I think it needs the proper driver for new monitor. friend does not have internet.Is it possable to find driver on my computer with internet and if so where.

Sure. Get the name of the monitor +model and put on cd or flash drive.

Monitors generally don't need drivers. Look at the monitor specs & make sure to configure the display settings to the montior's native screen resolution & refresh rate. Unfortunately, you didn't bother to list the model number but I didn't know RCA made monitors? Are you using an RCA HDTV as a monitor?

The video card drive may need to be updated to support newer displays.

You may need to verify that the lcd works on some other system too.

Hang up and live.
