Solved touchpad and mouse both work at same time

August 2, 2012 at 09:33:05
Specs: Windows 7
Suddenly, my touchpad works when my wireless mouse is plugged in. It did not do that before (like the past 4 years) but now does. How do I get the touchpad to stop working when mouse is in use?

I know in Dell's there should be an option in the BIOS to control whether the touchpad is on or not. You can also disable the mouse in Device Manager, but then you have to manually enable it when you want to use the touchpad.

You've been helped by a 14 year old.

✔ Best Answer
New touchpad software might incorporate this facility (even if it just got lost).

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I have a Gateway, but since it worked fine until recently I'm thinking it is more of a software problem. Thanks for your input
