Toshiba standby promo video

June 24, 2009 at 17:11:10
Specs: Windows XP
My screen goes into what appears to be stand-by
mode, and then some promotional video for Toshiba
computers automatically starts running. I have to hit
Esc to resume working on the computer to stop it. It
is really irritating. I can not find the settings (I assume
it's going to be under Power Options) for how to
eliminate this video.
Thank you for your help!

Go to Start, Open all Programs list, look for Toshiba in the list. If there is an arrow on the right, go there and see what is listed. Look fo something on the order of "Toshiba TOUR".

If anything there you should find a means of turning it off. You can also just delete the shortcut from the list.

The more I think about this, it could also be a Toshiba Video set as ScreenSaver.

Right click your Desktop and look for the ScreenSaver Tab. Choose another ScreenSaver, if you want one, else select NONE .

If it is a ScreenSaver any key will stop it.

There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

Thank you so much!
It was indeed a Toshiba Retail Demo Screen Saver, I would
have never set this one up myself but I recently had the
Windows re-installed and it must have been the factory
settings. Thanks again for helping out!
