Took my PC to repair shop....

can a blown ps2 port be repaired?

Everything worked at the shop. Took it home and the ps2 mouse and keyboard ports failed to work (no keyboard found). Took it back to shop and determined that the ports had blown!
Got a replacement from manufacturer. Again, at the repair shop all was fine...back at my office it again failed to function. Plugged a usb keyboard and mouse into the PC. Key board worked, mouse failed. The machine periodically reports that the mouse USB port has failed.

no they can not. With everything failing makes me wonder about your board or power supply.
Have you tried the usb mouse in another unit to make sure it works ok?

"can a blown ps2 port be repaired?"

Yes it can....not worth the fee for bench time.

Stray charge or shorting may be the problem with the PS2 units. With the I/O chip damaged, all other functions of that chip are suspect.
