toggle key does not function (it did before)

Specs: Windows XP
Since a few days my Toggle Key won't work (it did before) in windows xp professional sp3

What is a Toggle Key? Is it the power switch you are referring to? Need to be a little more descriptive.

I think you ment Start - Control Panel - Accessibility Options - Keyboard Tab - Togglekeys.

It appears that togglekeys works through the internal speaker. You may have muted your internal speaker or it may be damaged. To check to see if it is muted, double-click the speaker icon in the tray (bottom right hand corder with the clock) and this will open an equalizer bar showing all of the volumes. If PC Speaker is not one of them then click Options then Properties and check the PC Speaker. Then make sure the volume is up.
